I have to say I like football and video games but I don’t see how this one combines the two in a seamless way. This game appears to be the type of design we were told to avoid, basically just using a flashy frame for a trivial pursuit game. I suppose it accomplishes its goals of teaching financial content, but I can’t help but think it doesn’t hold incentive for repeat use.
Apparently I was not logged in for the above comment. So the strange looking “Anonymous” tree is really me. Ditto what I said above. Game appears to be a lot of flash but not much real substance other than trivia questions.
As a football fan and someone intrigued with financial markets I had to check out this game and loved it! It was very creative to put two very different topics together in a game and the content was information; I wish I had played it when I was starting off in college. Two things made the game so successful: timing the play made it more challenging and true to football, and the graphics were simple, yet sophisticated enough to imitate a football game.
The Financial Football game is designed to be played with teams. To score points, a team needs to correctly answer a series of money-management questions. So I think it will improve skill to manage money from this game.
